My favorite song on this CD is “Toda,” which
means “thank you.” A rough translation
goes like this: “Thank you for all that you
created. Thank you for all that you
gave, for the light of eyes, a friend or
two. For all that is in the world.
For a simple song. A forgiving heart.
Because of them I exist.”
25 Most
Famous Israeli Folk Songs
are sung in Hebrew only, so you'll be
totally immersed in the atmosphere of
Israel. Remember, the booklet of
transliterated lyrics will help you
learn the songs. Here's a
selection:

will rejoice)
Hine Ma Tov (Psalm 133)

My favorite
song on the "25 Most Famous..." CD is "Dror
Yikra" which is sung with a Yemenite accent.
It's a song of prayer. A rough
translation is that the Lord will bless
those who follow him faithfully. He
will give them freedom and peace. It's
a very spirited song and you have to dance
when you sing it -- or at least wave your
fingers!
