“In the story of my
family, I am the first to go on a pilgrimage to the
Holy Land. When I think of the great faith of
my great-grandma, and of my grandparents and
parents, I can’t help but wonder, 'Why was I blessed
with this wondrous opportunity?'
So, it was with great humility and joy that I got to
recommit my baptismal promise to Christ in the River
Jordan.
All I could think about when I stepped into the
water was how grateful I am for the gift of faith
that God has blessed me with and how cherished I
feel that God allows me to study His holy word.
The words of the great prophet Isaiah kept repeating
in my heart – 'Here I am Lord. I come to do
your will'.” |

“Our shared faith in
Jesus Christ has been one of the strongholds of our
45-year marriage. Both of us were baptized in our
early years, and to experience together
the renewal of our baptismal vows in the Jordan
River was one of many wonderful experiences in
Israel.” |

| “Being baptized in
the Jordan River and envisioning John baptizing
Jesus at the onset of his ministry was a very moving
experience. To more closely identify with Christ in
our public acknowledgement of our faith in Jesus as
messiah was the high point of my pilgrimage." |
