“AND
JUDAH AND ISRAEL DWELT SAFELY, EACH MAN UNDER HIS VINE
AND HIS FIG TREE, FROM DAN AS FAR AS BEERSHEBA,
ALL THE DAYS OF SOLOMON” I KINGS 4

"As a Bible teacher
and student of the Land, I cannot imagine a better
way or place to teach the story of Jeroboam and the
golden calves. In this ancient site, now
revealed through careful archeological excavation, a
Bible teacher can stand in the shadow of that great
altar and retell the story to a spellbound audience
who can almost see the golden calf god behind them
in the center of the city's sacred quarter. At
this site the stones speak and the breeze confirms
the Biblical story.
I cannot imagine a more exciting opportunity to have
the Bible come alive for my students." |

| "How well I remember
following you to Dan's site, picking up mammoth
acorns from the ground - and still have them on my
dresser!! Yesterday as I dusted, one rolled on
the floor. As I picked it up, I envisioned
picking it up THE FIRST TIME in November 1999, along
with you and others. We pray for you
continually, for we love Israel and her people!
Yes, Abraham, Dan's great-grandfather, received that
promise, [in Genesis 12] and God will NEVER go back
on His Word. That's what makes it such a
pleasure to serve Him! All other "employers"
are human and fail, but God never has and He never
will!" |

| "The first time I
visited Dan, in 1967, Abraham's gate had not been
excavated. Then, later, there it was.
Gila, you are a true daughter of Abraham to go that
far just to show "the pilgrims" this fantastic and
historical site. Sure do hope to walk there
with you ONE MORE TIME." |

"It doesn't seem
like it has been a year since I was in Israel.
You know that I can still see minute details from my
tour. I can see the dirt on the path to Dan
and the water, the paint chipping away on a window
on a building in Tiberias that was
becoming weathered. The birds flitting about
Masada, they almost made me want to try flying, or
skydiving at any rate. The shells on the ground in
the desert and the stain on the the rocks there when
we went to the the pools of water at the end of a
canyon. And many more...." |
